Judge:
Sherrie Murphy
I attended
college and worked as a young adult, but as it turned out, there were four
children who needed my attention and nurturing. I stayed home and raised my four
children, who grew up to become remarkable adults and significant members of
their own communities. I'm also thrilled that two of my children made me a
grandmother. I'm dearly cherish and am very proud of each of my children,
Angela, Todd, Jac and Dano, and grandsons, Lil' Jamaican (Gabe) and Cam.
I graduated from Cut Bank High School and attended Carroll College in Helena. I
continued my education at Dull Knife Memorial College in Lame Deer and MSU
Bozeman. While my children were busy building their futures, I became a
dispatcher for the Rosebud County Sheriff's Office, then became an officer for
MHP. I graduated from Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA) in Bozeman and was
POST (Peace Officer Standard and Training) Certified. I was also an instructor
within my agency and at MLEA and worked closely with other agencies. I was one
of four women promoted to Sergeant, in the history of the Patrol. I volunteer as
an EMT and for Special Olympics.
I was pleased that my life's journey brought me back to the area of Montana
where I'm most deeply rooted. My grandfather homesteaded in Toole County and I
have lived here since 2006. I love our county and am honored to serve our
community as Justice of the Peace.
